The Eon levels are designed especially for capture-the-flag modes with four or more players! That means scoring is much easier when two make a team-work (Levels 1-4) and in Level 5-8 it is even necessary to make team-work (one opens the station, the other scores)! They are also playable in team-hoard play mode, but the real feeling is only available in Capture-the-Flag mode (We tried it!!!). Here are the original descriptions of how to score in flag play for each of the levels.
LEVEL 1: MIRAGE
There are two red teleport areas. One side of the area in the middle can be flown through,
but only from the side not facing the other teleporter. Flying through it will change the
other teleport area so that you can fly it as well, but once you do, the second area
(which leads to the bases) will become solid again. You must then fly down from the
scoring area (the bases) to leave. It's very possible for two players (or more) to fly
through the second teleport area, but don't expect it to happen too frequently (unless you
plan it). In short, fly through teleporter 1 to open teleporter 2 in order to get to the
bases (for scoring).
LEVEL 2:
MALEVOLENCE
Both the red and blue bases are behind locked doors at the bottom of the
level. In order to open the doors (both open at the same time) you must fly up and around
the "arms" of the level and then down through the middle. Note that you must
actually fly as fast as you possibly can especially on the last stretch of the run. In
fact, unless you have an afterburner, the last part (from the top section of the level to
the doors that protect the bases) is nearly impossible to complete. It is *possible*, just
extremely difficult, and sliding is required.
LEVEL 3: WAVE
RUNNER
The bases are located in the upper part of the level. They are protected by
yellow warning grates that must be deactivated before you will be able to score. To
deactivate a set of grates, you must fly down the water tube corresponding to your teams
base. It's very simple to make your base accessible, but it's also easy to close it off
again.
If you pass through a scoring area and exit it, the walls will reappear. So for every time
you want to score you must go down the water tube. As with every EON level, teamwork will
only make scoring MUCH easier.
LEVEL 4:
BEHEMOTH BATTLE
This one is simple really. If you want to open the force field on one side,
you must fly right up next to the other side's force field. You can also run into the
force field on the other side but that's quite unnecessary. Just look at the sides of the
walls to find where you should go up to and you'll figure it out in less than a minute or
two. In short head to other teams goal, stop right before you run into the force field,
and turn around towards yours.
LEVEL 5: RALLY
RAGE
To make the scoring areas accessible, two players must fly up to the
force-field in question and have one player leave. This will open the force field and
allow one player to score. So the player with the flag should stay put while the other
deactivates the barrier (although not necessary, as you can use ALT-0 to pass the
flag/orbs).
LEVEL 6:
SYNCHRONIZATION V1.1
To score, simply fly parallel with a teammate down the corridor which leads
to your scoring area with one player on each side of the middle wall. You need two to get
in, but only one to get out so don't worry about getting trapped inside if your teammate
dies.
LEVEL 7:
ALTERNATE ZERO
Scoring is, as always, fairly simple. Just shoot the grated door at the
bottom of the central narrow lava fall and have one teammate enter from the other side.
Since the door closes again automatically, you'll obviously need two players to accomplish
this. It is also possible to pass the flag/orbs through the hole at the top of the tube,
but it's too small for a ship to pass through. In case you don't read the manual, use
ALT-0.
LEVEL 8:
GOOGERPLEX
To open the force fields protecting the goals, simple fly into the energy
refeuling center. Once you fly out of it the fields will close, so let your teammate get
out first. The switch is obviously the yellow sparkles.
