Midgard Collection by Midgard |
This is a collection of 8
levels made by Dave Monson alias Midgard. Midgard himself updated the first four by
request of the Descent Network Team, adding reactors, exits and flags. Not only because of
this we want to thank Midgard for this great mission. His levels is the reference of how
to use custom textures!
Note: As there are much of them you should use Descent 2 V1.2!
LEVEL 1: MIDGARD
1
This is a medium/large level that has symmetry and some pretty different
artwork, some of which is made up of as many as 9 different bitmaps. If you see minotaurs
and masks on the walls, you know the level's working correctly.
LEVEL 2: MIDGARD
2
This is a fairly large level that has symmetry and some pretty different
artwork, some of which is made up of as many as 12 different bitmaps.
LEVEL 3: MIDGARD
3
This is a medium size level that has symmetry and some original artwork,
which is made up of as many as 25 different bitmaps. If you see demons and
stained-glass-like symbols on the walls, you know the level's working right.
LEVEL 4: MIDGARD
4
This is a medium size multiplayer level that has symmetry and a lot of
original textures. You'll know if it's working right - it will look terrible if it isn't
(without version 1.2).
There is no lava, no force fields, and no switches to slow down the game and cause
unnecessary damage.
LEVEL 5: MIDGARD
5
This is a medium/large size multiplayer level that has symmetry and a lot of
original textures (47). You'll know if it's working right - it will look terrible if it
isn't (without version 1.2). You will see that the level is best suited for flag, but
normal anarchy will work just fine.
LEVEL 6: MIDGARD
6
This is a roomy, yet simply designed multiplayer level. It includes 86
textures (many for door animations) that I created and will look horrid if your not using
D2 1.2. There are a lot of big guns in it, but you can turn them off if you prefer
competition that centers on the use of primary weapons. However, there is plenty of room
for dodging missles. Have fun.
LEVEL 7: MIDGARD
7
Number seven in the Midgard series is a slightly sprawling level with lots
of weapons. Make sure to look for secret areas containing more powerful weapons. Turn off
the ones you don't want ... in my opinion it's better to include the big guns and let YOU
decide what to use. I created a lot of new textures for this level (139 to be exact), so
if you're not using version 1.2 the level will look ishy (yes ... ishy). There's no
invulnerability, cloaks, damage causing textures, or complicated tricks/traps in the level
... just a place for battle. Hope you crush your enemies (I am not your enemy). This level
is best suited for flag games, but anarchists shall not be deprived.
LEVEL 8: MIDGARD
8
It has rooms and halls and new textures... you know the drill.
